Since Pretty/Hansome isn’t going to air, I decided it was time to finally post the screencaptures I made of the pilot episode, which leaked on the internet a while ago. I’ve added a total of 586 captures. Follow the link to see them:
If I ever find pictures of this event - which I haven’t - I’ll add them to the gallery as soon as possible. And remember: you can always donate material by sending it to josephfiennesweb@gmail.com. Full credit will be given.
“I’ve been riding since the age of 16, but only got my full licence about three years ago,” he said. “I love the new BMWs and was really intrigued by them — especially the technical brilliance, wizardry and German engineering. I’m really excited about this bike and am looking forwards to getting out of town on it. I’ve got a couple of friends and we’re intent on touring the north of Italy and riding across the Alps into Switzerland. We’d also like to ride around the British Isles, which would be a great way to discover my own ‘back yard’.”
Although he comes from a large and successful family — Joseph is the brother to actor Ralph Fiennes and cousin to Sir Ranulph Fiennes (described in the Guinness Book of Records as “the world’s greatest living explorer”) — the 38-year-old is the only motorcyclist in his family, despite having five brothers and sisters. He certainly shares a sense of adventure with Sir Ranulph though, having travelled extensively in Africa, India and the far east, and he has the utmost respect for fellow actors Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman and their Long Way Round achievements to date. Joseph might be involved in a new film project! According to Buzzle.com, the movie, to be directed by Russian Oscar-nominated filmmaker Aleksei Uchitel under the title of The Churchill Houses, focuses on two fictitious love stories which take place at the Chuchill House, that is, the availability of high-profile prostitutes to British sailors on their 1,600-mile voyage to Murmansk. Check this out:
Joseph Fiennes and Jacqueline Bisset, both long-standing friends of Uchitel, have expressed an interest in starring in the film, which will be the first Russian production to be made in English. John Malkovich, Tilda Swinton and Russia’s most famous actor Evegeny Mironov have also been approached to appear in the film - which has a working title of The Churchill Houses
Uchitel refuses to say which characters the actors might play but admits the plot is already proving controversial.
The script was written by another Russian, Aleksander Rogozhkin, who uncovered the story while studying Soviet navy archives eight years ago.
Uchitel’s film centres on two fictitious love affairs at the real-life international Churchill House, or Interklub, in the main square in Murmansk. One romance is between a British naval officer and a 16-year-old girl working at the club, while the other involves a Russian submarine captain and an older prostitute.
Sorry for the lack of updates around here, you guys! It’s just that Joseph has been kind of quiet… Since there’s nothing new to report, I decided to update the site with a few icons made by me and my friend Renato. You can see them all by clicking here. Here are some previews:
Hollywood heart-throb Joseph Fiennes will be taking part in a question and answer session at this year’s Latitude festival.
The sold-out weekend festival, which takes place near Southwold, starts on Thursday, July 17, with The British Academy of Film and Television Arts opening the event the on The Lake Stage with a late-night screening of E A Dupont’s silent film Moulin Rouge, with live music accompaniment from The Matrix Ensemble.
It’s the end of the road for Ryan Murphy’s transsexual drama “Pretty/Handsome.”
The controversial project, exec produced by Murphy, Brad Pitt and Dede Gardner, was developed for FX, which ordered it to pilot starring Joseph Fiennes as a family man who decides to get a sex change.
The pilot, which co-starred Blythe Danner, Robert Wagner and Christopher Egan, created strong buzz around town, but in March, FX passed on it.
Around the same time, Egan landed the lead in NBC’s new series “Kings.”
“Pretty/Handsome” producer 20th Century Fox TV shopped the project to other outlets but was unsuccessful.
2,000 Feet Away, the debut drama by Anthony Weigh, which stars Joseph Fiennes, Ian Hart and Phyllis Logan, has extended its run at the Bush until 19 July.
The extra week of performances has been added due to popular demand, and extra tickets have been made available for all forthcoming performances.
